If you want to start biking as a hobby or plan to join a ride, there are some essentials that you need to pack that will get you through emergencies.
1) Helmet: A Helmet is often overlooked by a lot of people, but bikers know how important this is. Even if you are involved in a major accident, you need to protect your head to be alert and escape the situation or assess the damage and treat yourself.
2) Gloves: Our skin can peel so much from a bad road rash that sometimes our bones can be seen. One might need skin grafting surgery if the injury has removed several layers of skin to heal properly.
Even a minor case of road rash on the hands can result in intense discomfort for a week. And if you had worn a pair of gloves, you could have completely avoided this situation. So, wear gloves, people!
3) Biker's Jacket: In order to protect the rider from abrasions and injuries in those areas in the event of a crash, the majority of good jackets have padding in high-impact areas like the shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Additionally, the majority of jackets have reflective material so that other drivers can see them from a distance at night and in low light. These jackets might not be the most attractive to wear on a daily basis, but they are excellent for keeping one safe while riding a motorcycle. Although motorcycles lack the luxury of air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter as cars do, a high-quality motorcycle jacket can provide comfort to the rider.
4)Biker's pants: Biker's pants have extra padding and are made of special materials to absorb impact near sensitive areas like the hips, knees, and ankles, and prevent road rash.
5) Biking Shoes: Did you ever notice in weather conditions such as rain or snow or humid weather in general, the gears and brake levers seem to slip due to excess sweat if you are wearing a pair of flip-flops? Yes, that's exactly why you use biking shoes or shoes in general. They provide good grip, lest there may be any accident due to slipping gears and brakes.
6) Bike Panniers: Motorcycles are excellent for navigating traffic, traveling faster, and experiencing total freedom. What happens if you need to bring something along, especially if you do it frequently, like a laptop or work-related notes and files? You get Panniers, which are luggage carriers.
7) Bungee Cords: In today's adventure sports, bungee cords are probably one of the most commonly used accessories to secure items without tying knots and to absorb shock. Whether you're trekking, mountaineering, biking, or riding a motorcycle, bungee cords are ideal in at least one situation.
8) Wireless Helmet Mic: This is important because while you are riding, sometimes you get separated from your club or friends and need directions to rejoin them, and while riding, if you have a wired pair of earphones and mic system, it will cause clutter and blow in your face due to the wind.
9) Instant Tire repair sealant: Tires getting damaged is the most common occurrence while motorcycling, be it due to less air pressure, or punctures due to sharp rocks. To deal with this efficiently, you need to pack tire repair sealants.
I suggest Motul P3 tire repair sealant and inflator 300 ml if you are looking for it in the market.
10) Chain repair kit: Repairing a broken or fallen chain on a motorcycle is not as easy as repairing it on a bicycle. It needs its special equipment, and motorcycle chains are made to be durable, therefore more effort is required if some damage to the chain occurs. That is why always have a chain repair kit.
Riding safely is always better and more joyful.
Stay safe everyone!
