Bidar it is!!!!!!

The trip to Vikarabad left my bikers' club full of happiness and inspiration. All in all, it was quite a unique experience.

On top of that, we spread awareness about mental health and helped people, which made the tour worthwhile.

Therefore, it won't be a surprise when I say we planned another tour just like this to Bidar to spread awareness about how to deal with depression.

The journey to Bidar is also a small one. By motorcycle, it takes around 3-4 hrs and is a straight road with only one major U-turn.

An Ex-club member, who pursued a specialization in human psychology, had agreed to ride with us this time since he believed that it was a subject that needed an expert so that people could be taught about it properly.

But there was some difficulty after we exited the national highway. The frequency of signs was less, so we had to ask around in dhabas and chai stalls for directions. The good news for riders is that two-wheelers are exempt from paying the toll tax.

Since we didn't plan to tour Bidar for more than a day, we sat in a roadside Dhaba and started searching for places to visit in Bidar.

One of my club members said that Bidar was famous for its forts, so we decided to visit the Bidar Fort and Chaubara Clock Tower, which are also ancient architecture.

The Chaubara Clock tower was situated just 2 km from the Railway station, so we decided to visit it first and then make our way to the Bidar fort, which would burn most of our time.

We felt the fort would be a great place to conduct our awareness program, as it would be full of tourists. We could spread our message there without difficulty.

The Chaubara clock tower was visible from the roads, but we went there on foot after parking our bikes close to the monument.

We clicked good pictures and talked to some Chowkidaars to enquire about the lore behind the place.

After a good hour, we resumed our journey to the Bidar Fort, and sure enough, the place was full of Tourists, both indigenous and foreign.

The fort itself was grand and full of ancient history. We spied a convenient place for our main event and decided on doing it at the end of a walk away, where there was a small fountain.

We found a control room and talked to the people in charge about spreading awareness. They seemed uneasy at first and asked us to go forward with it after we told one of our club members was a science student.

We got permission, and my friend started attracting an audience and started with a short speech about what depression was and how to battle it. The audience was also lively, and he ended the speech by giving out helpline numbers to people, which are available 365 days a year for the masses. Everyone politely thanked us while we made our exit.

We lurked around for a while, ate some fresh hot jalebis with chai from a sweet shop, and made out way home. It was a day well spent, and I can't wait to do it again.
