My dream bike

Every motorcycle enthusiast whom you might come across has his favorite bike, which some are fortunate to get their hands around, while some hope to own the ride someday.

So do I.

My favorite model is the BMW GS1250.

And, like every guy, I would love to completely customize it from top to bottom, starting with a matt black color finish, and a custom comfortable seat cushion. The stock one is great too, but I have my reasons.

It is a sporty cruise model, that I saw for the first time on the road while I was on my way to my college. I soon approached the rider and asked him which model it was.

When I got to know it was the GS 1250, I immediately started doing my research about the bike, curious to know whether I could afford to buy that bike if I broke my bank.

Depending on your mood, it can be a roomy tourer, a performance bike, or a mud eater. It exudes poise, has excellent wind protection, and grip, and despite switching from Brembo to Hayes calipers with the BMW logo, it never lacks reliable stopping power.

Although the R1250GS lacks the outright speed and playfulness of big-bore competitors like the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S and the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin off-road, its extra grunt and delicious throttle response give you greater control over a GS than ever. The 'Enduro Pro's optional electronics provide off-road tailored traction control, ABS, and suspension settings, and its standing-up riding position is natural.

It has a powerful engine with a capacity of 1249 cc, rightly evident by its name, and handles like a BMW.

I love its aggressive looks and weighs two hundred and forty-nine kilograms with a liquid-cooled engine. It has a fuel capacity of around 20 liters, and its seat height is 850mm.

It also gives decent fuel consumption at around twenty kilometers per liter, which is super crazy for any bike.

But, just like all the BMWs, it costs a bomb.

The on-road price of the GS 1250 is around fourteen thousand euros or INR twelve lakhs.

Broke my heart, guys. I could afford to buy it, but that wasn't practical looking at my finances, since I always wanted to get a car, and I could afford a great SUV at the cost at which the bike comes.

But someday, when I have accumulated enough wealth and have all the time in the world, I will get this beast to my house, get on it and just disappear for some time, taking my ride to all the places I wanna go.

Sounds highly impossible, doesn't it? Well, I hope it happens.

If you guys are lucky enough to lay your hands on this bike, make sure to customize the heck of the bike. After all, if you are prepared to put funds down for your dream bike, you can't be frugal and regret it later.

But wait, I forgot to ask. What is your favorite bike?
