This bullet was released in 1990’s and was not that famous but had it’s unique identity as a diesel engine to a two-wheeler which is quite interesting. This motorcycle was called “TAURUS”. The engine was manufactured by greaves (which is predictable for people who have a good knowledge about diesel engines) which is quite popular in manufacturing diesel engines and also, they are one of the largest producers of diesel engines.
When I went to my service guy, I saw this beauty being refurbished by the mechanic. Even though no one likes this diesel-powered bullet still I find it fascinating. First, I will talk about the specifications
Technical Specifications
Engine Displacement: 325.00 cc
Engine: 4 Stroke Air-cooled Diesel
Maximum Power: 6.50 HP (4.7 kW)) @ 3600 RPM
Maximum Torque:15.00 Nm @ 2500 RPM
Transmission Manual: 4 speed

As you can see all the specifications are way too less comparable to a normal petrol engine, so now you know why people dislike the engine so much.
But the most interesting fact is when you kick start this engine you need to follow a unique method in order to get the engine fired up.
As it is a compression ignition engine you need to ensure that there is no pre-compressed air in it. If you are not careful with this then the kick rod kicks back and there are chances of ligament tear or any serious injuries. So, to clear that pre-compressed air we need to turn on the air nozzle which is present on the left side of the handle and then kick again. Being a compression ignition engine, we need to pump up the air which is needed to compress the fuel, in order to do that you need to give smooth kicks multiple amount of times so that good amount of air pumps and when you know that it’s ready for ignition hold the ignition handle and give a proper kick and repeat the process until the fuel is fired. This makes the engine most interesting and also the owner needs to have expertise to start the engine which makes the bike more unique. So, next time if I try to get my hands on any diesel bullet for sure I will learn how to start the engine and write that down as one of my skill in my resume.
